Each year for the past three years we have made it tradition to bring an aspiring grom who has never yet experienced the famous Surf Expo, to come join as our honorary team rider of the season. This year we chose to bring 10 year old DC Lewis and his mom for so many good reasons; with DC’s vast improvement and dedication to his surfing practice topping our list of reasons why we chose him this time around.

DC is now in charge of bringing all of Core Surf’s new boards to sell down to the lobby
DC and Brevard County Local Pro Surfer Chauncey Robinson
DC started surfing when he was 5 but really picked it up consistently at age 8 or 9, when he started competing in the Gnarly Charley Surf Series contests. He is in 5th grade. He likes surfing, skateboarding, basketball and video gaming with his friends. He has several favorites – clay marzo , john john Florence, Felipe Toledo, mick fanning and of course home town Kelly Slater. He surfs the Southeast NSSA and is starting to consistently surf the central Florida ESA competitions. He just wants to have fun surfing with his friends and travel to surf good waves in other countries with his dad, and coach Eric! He hopes to make it on the ESA Allstars and USA Prime team next year.
Thank you to those who inspire us to do what we do. Without you we may not be here today in support of our children. Sharing the passion of surfing with our youth helps bring love and community together. To teach and learn to appreciate, respect, love and protect our only home; this planet we call Earth. And most importantly to empower the youth to lead by positive example. The kids, our groms, the youth are our future!
